The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and results-driven System and Server Architect to help design and deploy cutting-edge computing systems, full-stack solutions, and advanced fabrics. In this key role, you will contribute to shaping Openchip's next-generation datacenter and RAN (Radio Access Network) infrastructure by driving innovation in system architecture, interconnects, and performance optimization. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless integration of hardware, software, networking, and cooling solutions, focusing on performance, efficiency, scalability, and reliability.
Key Responsibilities:
- Contribute to the development of innovative system architectures for datacenters and RAN platforms, focusing on full-stack computing systems, including compute nodes, memory subsystems, interconnect fabrics, power delivery, thermal management, and control planes.
- Define high-level requirements for next-generation computing platforms that align with customer needs and market trends in AI, HPC, cloud computing, and vRAN.
- Architect advanced network fabrics and interconnect solutions to enable ultra-low latency, high-bandwidth communication between compute nodes, GPUs, memory modules, and other components.
- Collaborate with hardware and software teams to optimize fabric performance for datacenter-scale and RAN deployments.
- Enable server development for Openchip-powered system solutions, ensuring compatibility with telecom platforms like vRAN.
- Work with partners on cooling and general infrastructure configurations to meet the needs of high-performance systems.
- Collaborate with hardware architects, software engineers, and product managers to integrate cutting-edge technologies into our computing systems.
- Engage with external partners, customers, and standards organizations to define best practices for datacenter and RAN deployments.
- Support the development of long-term strategic plans for system architecture evolution, aligning with Openchip’s vision for AI, HPC, cloud infrastructure, and vRAN solutions.
- Identify emerging trends and technologies that can be leveraged to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field (Ph.D. is a plus).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in system architecture, with a strong focus on datacenter infrastructure, high-performance computing, AI/ML accelerators, or RAN platforms.
- Proven track record of contributing to system design projects for datacenters, cloud environments, or telecom systems.
- Deep expertise in one or more areas: computer architecture, network fabrics, memory subsystems, thermal engineering, power delivery systems, or vRAN solutions.
- Experience with full stack computing systems, including compute, memory, interconnects, and control planes.
- Strong understanding of modern datacenter architectures, AI/ML workloads, HPC clusters, cloud infrastructure, and RAN platforms.
- Familiarity with emerging standards for interconnect fabrics (e.g., PCIe, CXL, NVLink) and telecom technologies (e.g., vRAN, 5G).
- Knowledge of advanced cooling technologies (e.g., liquid cooling) and their impact on system design.
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners to drive innovation and deliver results.
