Senior System Administrator

The Role:

We are looking for a Senior System Admin with many years of experience in implementing and managing solutions in the datacenter with a focus on virtualization and storage on highly complex projects. The professional will implement and maintain infrastructure solutions based on Linux, VMware, NetApp. The professional will gain significant experience in system consulting, dealing with highly complex projects, and gaining skills in the most innovative and high-performance technologies. The role will support the division in the research and development, single accountable of the technical project responsibilities, objectives, milestones and deliverables.


Responsibilities:

The responsibilities will include, but are not limited to:

- Install, configure, and manage RHEL systems and Red Hat Enterprise Virtualization environments.

- Administer KVM virtualization, Puppet automation, and kernel-level tuning.

- Implement system patching, STIG compliance, and release/version control.

- Monitor performance, handle incident response, and ensure uptime and data integrity.

- Automate tasks using shell scripting, Ansible, or equivalent configuration management tools.

- Maintain backup and recovery solutions and ensure disaster recovery readiness.

- Maintain accurate and comprehensive configuration documentation.



Qualifications:

· Command-line tools expertise

· System configuration

· Server Administrator

· System Administrator (RedHat Linux Enterprise)

· ACLs Unix Posix management

· Management of VXBlock (Dell)

· Management of Hypervisor Vmwave (Vsphere, Vcenter, ESXi)

· Management IDM (RedHat Identity Management)

· Management RedHat Satellite

· Disaster recovery planning

· Ansible usage to install S.O. e Middleware

· PCFS (Parallel cluster file system) IBM Spectrum Scale (GPFS) usage

· Data migration rsync

· Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.

· Experience creating and modifying documentation for technical processes and procedures.

· A problem solver and troubleshooter who thrives in resolving complex problems.

· Strong self-starter requiring minimal supervision.

· Background in programming skills

· 10+ years of experience

· Red Hat Certified Engineer (RHCE) and other vendor-specific certifications are valuable for demonstrating advanced skills.

· The person should be located in Rome (Italy) or nearby.
