We are seeking an experienced professional to join our technological office team as a Senior Fabric and System Architect, focusing on the design, integration, and optimization of the fabric and system-level architecture for our cutting-edge accelerator products.
About Openchip’s Technology Office:
The technology office team is responsible for driving technological innovation and aligning the company’s technical strategy with business objectives. We oversee research and development (R&D) of next-generation architectures, manage collaborations with foundries and ecosystem partners, and ensure efficient execution of the technology roadmap. The team also monitors emerging trends, explores experimental technologies, and leads efforts in process node advancements. Additionally, we set technical standards, guide cross-functional teams, and promote talent development while ensuring products are optimized for market needs, sustainability, and regulatory compliance, positioning Openchip as a technology leader.
Key Responsibilities:
- Architect, design, and optimize the fabric interconnects and system-level components for RISC-V-based accelerators.
- Collaborate closely with hardware and software teams to ensure seamless integration of accelerator systems into larger platforms.
- Drive the definition of protocols, interfaces, and standards for fabric and system communication.
- Lead performance modeling and simulation efforts to ensure efficient data flow and minimize bottlenecks.
- Oversee design verification and validation processes for fabric and system components.
- Mentor junior team members and contribute to the growth of the organization’s expertise in fabric and system architecture.
- Stay abreast of industry trends and contribute to Openchip's technology roadmap.
Required Skills and Experience:
- Advanced SoC Architecture Expertise: Strong background in system-on-chip (SoC) design, including interconnect fabrics, memory hierarchy, and subsystem integration.
- Fabric and Interconnect Design: Experience with high-performance interconnect protocols (e.g., AXI, CHI, CCIX, CXL, PCIe).
- Infiniband/Omni-Path Expertise: Comprehensive knowledge and hands-on experience with Infiniband, Omni-Path, or similar high-performance fabric technologies.
- Hardware/Software Co-Design: Deep understanding of hardware-software trade-offs, including familiarity with driver and firmware development.
- RISC-V Ecosystem Knowledge: Proven experience working with RISC-V or similar open architectures.
- Performance Analysis and Optimization: Proficiency in performance modeling, simulation tools, and optimization techniques.
- IP Integration: Experience integrating IP cores into large-scale systems.
- Advanced Communication Protocols: Knowledge of low-latency, high-bandwidth communication designs.
- Debugging and Validation: Expertise in debugging, system validation, and silicon bring-up.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Strong leadership, mentorship, and cross-disciplinary collaboration skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
- Familiarity with AI/ML workloads and their implications for accelerator design.
- Hands-on experience with emulation, prototyping, and hardware/software integration.
