The Role:
We are looking for a motivated and technically skilled Master student to define, integrate, and evaluate sustainability metrics for frontier AI models. This thesis will focus on building a reproducible benchmarking framework to measure the sustainability of frontier AI models across varying model scales and inference environments.
Key Responsibilities:
🔹 Define metrics for Sustainable AI in frontier AI models
🔹 Select and integrate tools to monitor and track these metrics
🔹 Design, implement, and execute benchmark to assess Sustainable AI metrics
🔹 Analyse benchmark results to identify patterns, trade-offs, and sustainability-driven optimizations
🔹 Document the framework, methodology, and findings for reproducibility and dissemination
Key Qualifications:
· Proficiency in Python
· Familiarity with PyTorch and Hugging Face Transformers
Preferred qualifications:
· Understanding of Sustainable AI principles and metrics
· Familiarity with vLLM or NVIDIA TensorRT-LLM
· Experience with cloud environments and GPU acceleration
· Experience with Git and collaborative integration
